ABSTRACT
Rutebeuf is a Parisian poet of the mid-thirteenth century. Though none of his biographical facts is known to us, even his real name and the year of his birth and death, his fifty or more poems taking on varied tones and diverse themes have solidified his stature as one of the most significant writers of medieval French literature. Classified as the non-musical genre of dit, this production proves his keen consciousness of the tripartite relation between the reality, text, and author.
