ABSTRACT

Chapter 9 discusses the impact of the organisational factors on the successful implementation of IS/IT projects. It highlights the need for a management tool to allow managers to assess their organisation’s state of readiness prior to IS/IT investment, i.e. prior to embarking on the development and implementation phase of the IS life cycle. Such a tool should have the capability to identify and measure the current and the target status of organisational readiness to successfully absorb new information systems into their work practices.
