ABSTRACT

IS/IT investment is being increasingly used in support of business objectives. The success of these projects cannot only be measured by the successful installation of the system, i.e. hardware and software, nor by the level of users’ satisfaction. A fully operational system with satisfactory functionalities can be alienated and not be used by employees. The successful implementation of IS/IT in an organisation is highly related to its ability to absorb and integrate the proposed systems into its current practices. Systems can only achieve their intended business objectives if they are fully integrated into the organisation’s current work practices and are accepted and supported by both employees and management.
