ABSTRACT

Sports have long been one of the key forms of entertainment. Sports as a form of popular culture, by their traditions, take different forms in accordance with different societies and cultures (Ivanovic, 2008) and sport in its traditional forms represents amusement within cultural diversities across the world. Sport as a tool of entertainment is said to contribute to the process of social well-being (Hinch & Higham, 2011) and in some countries, a sport can have unrivalled popularity among the locals and the enthusiasm and participation in such sports become very strong. In many societies, moreover, sports perform a role as one of the key opportunities for social and cultural progression.
