ABSTRACT
The foregoing discussion of several aspects of the problem of environmental change is incomplete and fragmentary, but perhaps it suffices to establish the seriousness of the problem. To a substantial degree, the types of detrimental environmental change that are being observed now and those that are anticipated in the future have their causal roots in human behavior.
