ABSTRACT

Collaboration. Have students work together to solve problems, explore, create.

Responsible: Answerable or accountable, as for something within one's power, control, or management.

The most striking difference between the world when I began teaching in 1961 and today's world is size. The world is dramatically smaller in ways that make the global village a reality. Today we receive minute-by-minute accounts of news events. Personal messages are sent and received from across the globe in an instant. Computers invite us to travel an information highway that affords access to a knowledge base unimaginable just a decade ago. Knowledge from all over the world can be shared by many-not just a chosen few in universities.
