ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I present results from seven Multidimensional (MD) analyses of PTRS texts. Following this brief introduction, I first describe in detail an overall analysis of all PTRS articles in the corpus constructed for MD analysis (i.e., Corpus B). This analysis constitutes the main focus of the present chapter. The remaining six analyses are more exploratory in nature. They compare linguistic change across time in various smaller subgroupings of texts within the larger corpus: (a) all epistolary articles as compared to all nonepistolary articles; (b) all experimental articles versus all nonexperimental articles; and (c) all articles as categorized according to two domains of modern scientific activity-physical sciences/mathematics and life sciences. Finally, I briefly summarize the results of these analyses.
