ABSTRACT
The toxic properties of chemical agents that might affect the eye and visual perception have long been recognized. This is in part because of the value we ascribe to vision— the loss of vision is what we fear most. Ophthalmic toxicology is a catch-all term that refers to the study of the effects of toxic agents and drugs on the eyes, their receptors, and their associated neural pathways.
