ABSTRACT

Among many themes in the ecological worldview literature, there are two that I found to have great potential to provide new insights into the psychology of sustainability leadership. These are the distinction between anthropocentric and ecocentric worldviews and the ecological self. These two themes can also be considered as psychological constructs and as components of an ecological worldview. The far-reaching implications of anthropocentric worldviews have received particular attention from the fields of deep ecology, eco-psychology and indigenous studies.
