ABSTRACT
The goal of the systematic literature review in the theoretical part of this book was to understand the bottom-up development perspective, its approaches and success factors. By combining the concept of the BoP and the respective innovation processes with the elements of bottom-up development, further possible links became evident, and ‘a priori constructs’ could be pictured. However, to find out what is applicable and already applied in practice, what is possible and what is not, qualitative research was necessary and a multiple-case inductive analysis of BoP ventures was applied. The objective was to build empirically validated constructs that help to build theory on applying a bottom-up development perspective in the innovation process of BoP ventures.
