ABSTRACT
This chapter describes and briefly explores the process of taking known information or data about situations and entities (military, criminal, or other threat) and characterizing the known, and (with appropriate statements of probability or risk) predicting future trend actions in those situations/entities. The chapter material also introduces and discusses the Intelligence Cycle, commonly used by selected members of the intelligence community (IC) to collect, process, and disseminate intelligence.
