ABSTRACT
Defined by language, man distinguishes himself from animals that do not have this possibility. Yet, not content with this privilege, man believes his words belong to him, that he does not owe them to others, for he sees himself as their owner. For a long time Western man has sought to detach himself from the mythic and semiologic universe, which sustained him in the first place; he has wished to become independent in order to be the owner of his words and the inventor of his concepts.
