ABSTRACT

The article by Boyer and Hollingsworth (1998) on The shift from embeddedness to nestedness is of particular interest to us as it offers a reading of our actual society in terms of regulation and interwoven logics or interdependent trends, all concerning issues of social rules and behaviours. These rules and their interaction are evidenced at various levels (local, regional, and nation-state, continent and global) thus seemingly going beyond the socio-economic dichotomy.
