ABSTRACT

So far, this book has introduced, reified and critiqued three categories of sports diplomacy in its proposed quadripartite framework. These categories – traditional sports diplomacy, ‘new’ sports diplomacy and non-state sports diplomacy – are, generally, positive areas of theory and practice. Each, in its own distinctive way, produces and reproduces the international society of sport. However, when thinking of international sport, not everything is good, positive and integrative.
