ABSTRACT

Although the concept and widespread acceptance of dyslexia is now well established compared to the ‘uncertain times’ of the 1970s and 1980s, it is still not without controversy (Elliott and Grigorenko 2014). There is, however, government acceptance of dyslexia in most countries, and indeed new impetus to highlight the hidden cost of undiagnosed dyslexia and the importance of emotional development with dyslexia, as indicated in the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Dyslexia and other SpLDs Report (British Dyslexia Association 2019).
