ABSTRACT
It is undeniable that reading can transform children’s lives. Teachers everywhere recognise the importance of reading – both at home and at school – and it is rare to find a parent or professional who isn’t clear that reading more can help improve a child’s reading skill, along with reading books that are just a little challenging but not overly so. In fact, improving a child’s reading can seem beguilingly simple, especially when compared with the task of improving writing.
