As the reader can probably tell from the previous chapter, this was a very long and detailed experiment. In fact each volunteer was eventually assessed on no less than 167 variables. Obviously I shall have to be very selective in the data I report as 13,861correlations were obtained in total. I shall therefore focus, in general, only on those results for which predictions were made, although some other patterns of theoretical interest will be mentioned. A great deal will, however, have to be omitted. Throughout this chapter I shall relate the findings to the overall themes of the book so that the reader is not merely confronted with figures and significance levels.
