ABSTRACT
In the previous chapter I presented the phenomenology of mysticodelusional thinking using my own case as an example. The purpose of this chapter is to dig a little deeper than that and outline the causes and predisposing and situational factors that could have brought about such a horrific episode. The reader may well be rather bewildered and shocked by Chapter 4 and is probably asking 'How could this possibly have happened?' Here I shall attempt to go some way towards answering this question.
