ABSTRACT
Martin Seligman, a psychologist, advocates for a positive approach to well-being with a focus on behavioral adaptation.5
Seligman notes that in order to achieve mental wellness, care and support must focus on positive factors and behaviors. Focusing on the positive aspects is especially important when creating environments that nurture the sensory sensitivities of those with ASD. Caregivers should focus on working with the behaviors of people with ASD, and designers should seek to provide an environment that accommodates caregiver and patient needs.
