ABSTRACT
To make an appraisal of the ‘‘Future Challenges for the Port and Shipping Sector’’, one must consider the developments of the ship and the shipbuilding industry. This chapter addresses the main developments in this area that include developments in ship price, ship size, ship delivery time, ship emissions, ship safety, ship propulsion, etc.
