ABSTRACT
This chapter deals with the provisions of the relevant JCT clauses, which in most respects are direct reproductions of those in other JCT contracts. They constitute sections 2, 6 and 7 of the anticipated revised section headed JCT contract (revised numbers are in brackets and see also comparison table in the Index of JCT clauses). Incidental mention of design is made in a number of places, while in others the contractor's design responsibility affects interpretation. In view of these points and the generally complex nature and length of the clauses, a rounded and fairly detailed treatment is given.
