ABSTRACT

How the employer and contractor join forces is not a prime concern of this book. It may be through previous contracts, recommendation, desperation, the glossy advertisement or even the proverbial golf club. Desirably, it will involve an assessment of the contractor's inherent suitability and current capability to perform the work required. Much of this is common to assessment for other contractual forms, but should especially relate to his experience in design and build projects and the structure of his organisation with an emphasis on how specifically it is constituted to perform design and build.
