ABSTRACT
Religious actors of various kinds are now widely recognised as import ant actors in development in the developing world, especially in the context of the aim of achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The MDGs were announced by the United Nations in 2000 for achievement by 2015 (www.un.org/millenniumgoals/).
