ABSTRACT
S ince people with A D H D are more different than they are alike, it is not surprising that different medications might be necessary for different individuals. Initial medication treatment efforts may lead to disappointing results or to intolerable side effects. Alternative medications must then be sought. Because of increases in the diagnosis of A D H D and because of the lack of responsiveness by some youngsters to the medications commonly used, many alternative medications have been tried clinically and in research settings.
