ABSTRACT
It is time now to consider the possible directions for future development in this field. What are the ways in which the transpersonal might go in the next few years?
THE SPREADING OF THE TRANSPERSONAL
First of all it seems that the understanding and use of the transpersonal is going to grow. There are many signs of this, particularly in the number of books which are becoming available on different aspects of the matter. More informally, I find that one can talk about spiritual experiences much more readily than was the case even ten years ago. So it seems that at the very time when many other trends are going the other way, into more violence, more crime, more exploitation, there is a strong trend towards acknowledging that we have a spiritual side, a spiritual nature which needs to be taken care of.
