ABSTRACT

One of the tricky things to deal with is meditation, because in a way it is part of therapy, and in a way it is not. Let us examine it now.

MEDITATION

Meditation is one of the main things which people think of when they think about the transpersonal, and indeed it is quite a key activity in this area of work, particularly when approaching the Causal. It can be a preparation for therapy, or an adjunct to therapy, or a follow-up to therapy. But let us first ask the question – what is the difference between prayer and meditation? The main difference is that prayer is sometimes used to ask for things, while meditation is not. But there is another kind, which is called the prayer of openness, which simply opens the person to God or some absolute being of that kind, and waits.
