ABSTRACT

Organizational goals can be expressed as a vision, a set of values, and/or stra tegic goals. Members of the organization often have a shared vision or image in their minds about how the organization should be working and how it should appear when things are going well. Organizations operate according to tacit or explicit values that guide policies, procedures, behaviors, and decisions. These values are, in part, the culture of the organization. Organization members strive to achieve key or strategic goals directed toward the overall mission of the organiza tion, for instance, manufacture and sell breakfast cereal.
