ABSTRACT
Most of the existing work in ethics is produced by, and is most relevant to, the instrumental level. The emphasis on correctness fits very well here, and the basis of the ethical research boards which exist in universities is clearly instrumental. All the emphasis here is on getting it right, and being precise about what is allowed and what is not.
