ABSTRACT

Objective The main objective of this activity is to allow for a safe environment in which emotions can be

expressed in a means comfortable and appropriate for children. Since children are often not as skilled as adults in verbalizing their thoughts and feelings, traditional talk therapy approaches may not be as effective with children (Rudolph & Thompson, 1995). Play therapy provides a means by which family members can express themselves in a safe and creative way (Webb, 1991). Family drawings are one means of allowing for such expression, and a method by which powerful assessments and interventions may be made.
