ABSTRACT

I hugged Don Carty Monday night. Or, I should say, he hugged me. I would not presume to hug the CEO of American Airlines. We were introduced after the service and shook hands. When he learned we had been together twenty-one years he threw his arms around me and said, "I'm sorry, so sorry." He was sincere; it was a very human moment. I told him that you loved American Airlines. I then pointed to your wings on my jacket pocket and said I would always wear them with pride.
