ABSTRACT

The most obvious and perceptible of the differences between MGR and RK lies in the presentation of their (male) bodies, especially the ‘look’ and the body structure. The ‘body presentation’ remains as the remarkably visible ‘differentiation marker’ because it is MGR and RK, as ‘em-bodied’ heroes, who dominate vast chunk of scenes in each fi lm. Their persistent ‘bodily’ presence, in effect, is the medium through which the narrative unfolds.
