ABSTRACT
I didn’t fit in at school; I once tried to impress my peers by performing a ventriloquism act onstage with a homemade cardboard puppet. I didn’t like sports and never seemed to get caught at kiss chase, no matter how slow I tried to run. I spent a lot of time in hospital, and without trying to be too tragic, was nicknamed ‘cripple’ by my classmates.
