I feel youth theatre contributed to my skill set just as much as my high school education, if not more. It’s because of all this that I decided to pursue my career in acting.

Any good youth theatre workshop will at its core involve the transfer of new skills to participants, and a vast array of exercises are available which can assist in this purpose. Again it is necessary to make the distinction between exercises and games: unlike games, exercises have a set of rules which do require participants to use theatre-or drama-based skills, and they are designed to support the development of specific acting and/or creative abilities.
