Another opportunity to work with a noted scientist at the world-renowned California Institute of Technology (see p. 48) came about as an assignment to shoot the official in-house portrait of the faculty member who occupies the William K. Bowes Jr. Leadership Chair in the Division of Biology and Biological Engineering. He’s Dr. Stephen L. Mayo, and his personal story and professional resumé are as impressive as that title.
