Governments around the globe have a responsibility to solve the pressing needs of citizens and ensure sustainable developments. Along with changes in society, politicians and public administrators are experiencing an increase in the complexity of problems that society is wrestling with, while having to manage these within tight fiscal constraints. These problems need innovative policy solutions and public sector organizations that are capable of creating and delivering them. However, there is a significant lack of understanding in relation to how collective action produces innovation and how innovation can be supported from within public sector organizations. This book aims to address this gap by focusing on public sector innovation capacity.
