ABSTRACT

Finally, though the simplest interpretation of traditional-logicwith-negative-terms (our Interpretation B, given in Sec. 91) is no simpler than the simplest interpretation of traditional-logicwithout-negative-terms, it involves no loss in simplicity. As a matter of fact, the simplest interpretation of traditional logic with negative terms is identical with the simplest interpretation of traditional logic without negative terms. In the matter o f interpretation, then, negative terms entail no loss of simplicity, and in the matter o f the rules and the postulates they result in noteworthy gains in simplicity.
