ABSTRACT
We have taken as our outlook period the years between the late 1970s
and the year 2000. The projections in this chapter are for five-year
intervals, being stated as consumption in the years 1980, 1985, 1990,
1995, and 2000. In no case, however, is there any intention to provide
anything but a trend value. There is no attempt, even for near-future
years, to take account of either cyclical or other kinds of deviations.
