ABSTRACT

Interpreting, analysing and concluding (making conclusions in investigations) This skill area encourages children to move beyond describing and reporting what they have found out to consider what it might mean. To do this children need to be encouraged to reflect on their original question, identify what evidence (if any) can be used to answer the question, spot patterns (or be confident enough to say if there is no pattern), understand what those patterns might mean, all using scientific understanding and vocabulary, and then use them to answer their question.
