ABSTRACT

Everybody cares about the money they make, but not nearly enough consumers-and that includes business reporters-pay close attention to where the money goes when they spend or invest it. And with the economic upheaval of the past few years meaning that many of us have less money than we did in the past, it’s a hard lesson when we finally sit down with our checkbooks to see how many times we’ve stopped at Taco Bell on the way home from work or bought a round for everyone on Friday night.
