I looked up into the sky outside of Domboshawa, where a pregnant Kariamu had climbed the rock to see the cave of the early humans on our first drive to the South, and I saw at the pinnacle of the sky the shimmering stars like dancing pebbles in a massive lake, and I realized the overwhelming strength of the mystic presence of nature in Africa. This presence constitutes the source of so much mystery, the curse and richness of Africa, as it has been for other continents.
