ABSTRACT

Ann is a fifteen-year-old girl.1 Ann is not her real name, but it is what everyone in the United States calls her. She doesn’t like losing her name, but it is a minor irritant compared to the other conditions of her life in the United States. She thought she would arrive to a better life than the one she had in China. That is what her parents had told her and had hoped for her. So far, everything was worse, and now she was alone.
