ABSTRACT

Liz is a secondary Support for Learning teacher in Scotland, who teaches and provides support for young people with additional support needs, both in their subject classes and in small group and one-on-one contexts. Liz had only attended the first session of the year-long professional development programme, although she explained that she did continue to use critical pedagogies with young people. She also offers an interesting perspective as she has spent considerable amounts of time in different subject classes, and has observed a range of practices.
