ABSTRACT
Social arrangements in the form of institutions, communities, and other social structures have important implications for human and non-human experiences. Social Psychologists would argue, however, that social life must also be understood from the standpoint of the encounters and relationships people have with each other and other beings. While Chapter 2 focused on macro theoretical perspectives or the broad structural aspects of social reality, Chapter 3 addresses micro perspectives, which are best represented through the work of social psychologists. Including both macro and micro perspectives will facilitate inclusion of a full range of variables and provide insights for both short term and long term remedies when solving social problems.
