ABSTRACT

Pevsner’s rst broadcast went ahead as planned on the evening of Friday, 9 February 1945. The talk introduced listeners to the architects Le Corbusier and Frank Lloyd Wright. It lasted ten minutes and followed on from another talk given by Philip James, Art Director of CEMA (Council for the Encouragement of Music and the Arts), on the idea of art centres in English towns. The two talks went out in an edition of a twenty-minute Home Service series called ‘The Arts’.
