ABSTRACT

Chapter 4, as Part 2, focuses on organisational considerations for learning and development for older workers, based on the key findings for the same HE study.

Further themes arising from the higher education research study are discussed alongside relevant literature, leading to a model and a theory of integration of learning needs. This revises an earlier-introduced conceptual framework to reframe and re-imagine later life learning for older workers which is presented in Chapter 7, alongside the concepts and key ideas that emerged from the findings. The framework uses the notion of transitions as a baseline for renewal and development and opens up the opportunity for the forging of a new identity as an older worker.
