ABSTRACT
Set against the immense spans of geological time studied in the previous chapter, the description of Narbonne in early foundational Christian texts shows the newer timelines of Christian world-history. Educated religious texts now pose further questions about historical time, placing Narbonne in the new framework of the fifth century.
