ABSTRACT
Was Owen or Baxter closer to Calvin? It seems to me that both men stood within the Calvinist tradition, and both were similar to and different from Calvin, in different ways.172 My hope is that we can move on from the debate. I have already suggested that we need to do this in the case of Owen,173 and I now extend that to Baxter. If the question is never posed again, it will not be missed.
