C Bishnoi Saṃskāras (“Rites of Passage”)

All Bishnoi rituals and rites of passages are initiated and performed in the presence of fire. In 1485, Guru Jambheśvara established Bishnoi Pantha with the performance of a havan, fire ceremony. Today, Bishnois follow the same havan tradition in their daily rituals and in their rites of passages. Gotrachāra includes verses taken from various śabdas by Jambheśvara.
