ABSTRACT
The loathing of outsiders has been a structural feature of human history as we know it. Currently, ethnophaulisms, autochthony-allochthony politics, and related discriminations are global (anti)social phenomena. South Africa’s malign predisposition to outsiders is symptomatic of a continental and global problem. However, in South Africa this problem has its unique signature and contextual specificities.
