Theterm'authority,'whetherprecededbyanadjectiveornot,
hashadvarioususagessincetheRomanconceptionofauctoritas(as
possessionoftheSenate)andtheneaternotionofauctor.In
conformancewiththeseusages,bothpastandpresent,butinparticular
theproblemspresentedbytheconceptofauthority,anecessarystep
towardsanunderstandingofthelibertarianviewoftheworld.
